A performance de exportação é uma operação financeira utilizada por empresas que precisam viabilizar ou manter operações de câmbio relacionadas à exportação, mesmo quando ainda não possuem mercadoria física disponível para embarque.Export performance is a financial operation used by companies that need to enable or keep foreign-exchange operations tied to an export, even when the physical goods are not yet ready to ship.
Essa operação ocorre por meio de um Contrato de Compra de Performance de Exportação, no qual uma empresa transfere a outra o direito de realizar uma exportação, permitindo o uso desse direito para fins cambiais e financeiros, dentro das regras do comércio exterior brasileiro.It is done through an Export Performance Purchase Agreement, in which one company transfers to another the right to carry out an export, so that right can be used for FX and financial purposes under Brazilian foreign-trade rules.

A operação entra quando o fluxo financeiro e o embarque físico não coincidem. O direito cedido não é a mercadoria e não substitui a exportação real. Ele lastreia o câmbio para que o ACC ou o PPE possa ser liquidado dentro da regra.The operation is used when the financial flow and the physical shipment do not coincide. The right that is transferred is not the goods, and it does not replace the real export. It backs the FX contract so the ACC or PPE can be settled within the rules.

A performance lastreia o contrato de câmbio para quitar o ACC ou o PPE. O encerramento ocorre com a exportação real, a liquidação do câmbio ou o fim do prazo da performance.Performance backs the FX contract used to settle the ACC or PPE. It ends with the real export, the settlement of the FX contract, or the end of the performance term.
A performance não libera caixa por si só. A empresa precisa ter, em reais no Brasil, o valor da operação. O instrumento não substitui o ACC nem o contrato de câmbio: ele torna a liquidação possível.Performance does not release cash by itself. The company needs the reais in Brazil to fund the operation. The instrument does not replace the ACC or the FX contract: it makes the settlement possible.
